Poll: Public Disapproves Of Handling Of Benghazi But Sees No Cover-Up

Source: TPM

PEMA LEVY 6:35 AM EST, TUESDAY NOVEMBER 27, 2012

Fifty-four percent of Americans disapprove of the White House's handling of the attacks in Benghazi, Libya, according to a CNN poll released Tuesday. However, a majority of Americans, 54 percent, do not believe that the administration purposefully misled them on the attacks but rather gave the information they had at the time.

Americans are split on the scandal surrounding Gen. David Petraeus, with 44 percent of Americans saying the administration handled the CIA director's resignation well and 44 percent saying they're dissatisfied with the administration's response.

The poll of 1,023 adult Americans was conducted November 16-18 and has a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points.

did the same Poll reveal about opinions during the WMD issue at the time? A lot of them believed George W Bush also. Polls can be manipulated by corporate interests. I don't think the White House did anything wrong. Why don't you ask questions about the Republican witch hunt and politicizing of the issue? I would also like to know what they think of the personal attacks on Ambassador Susan Rice by certain GOP members.

Talk about a cover-up!!!

Why aren't these republicans more concerned how the 'terrorist' got by the security or lack of it?

Could it be the republican majority in congress purposely cut the embassy security budget - The same budget Secretary of State Hillary Clinton asked & begged Boehner and the republican congress for funding for the Libyan Embassy and that it was extremely important as it proved to be.

Why did the republicans refuse funding? - Was this a set-up?

As the republican congress cut hundreds of millions from embassy security even after being told how important it was.

That's the real cover up - the republicans appear to be covering up by going after Rice for saying what the CIA admittedly told her to say publicly.

Shame on the republicans for trying to divert attention from how this attack even occurred, to pointing the finger at rice while the republicans are using their usual smokescreens to their own neglect & responsibility.
