Biden campaign hires national organizing director, national director for voter protection and access

President Bidens reelection campaign announced new additions to its staff to boost its organizing efforts and focus on voter protection. Roohi Rustum was named national organizing director, which involves leading the campaigns organizing across all 50 states, and Meredith Horton was named national director for voter protection and access.
The campaign is set to announce both Wednesday. Rustum previously worked at the Democratic National Committee as the interim national organizing director. She oversaw the Biden campaigns early organizing investments in Arizona and Wisconsin and focused on outreach to young, Black and Latino voters.
She also worked on get out the vote efforts for 2023 races, including the Kentucky governors race and the Virginia state Legislature, both of which Democrats won. She also was regional director of battleground states in the 2022 midterm elections and was national relational organizing director for Bidens 2020 campaign.
Rustum, who is Bangladeshi American, is the first LGBTQ person and first woman of color to serve as national organizing director for a general election presidential campaign, according to the campaign.
