President Obama To Visit Newtown Sunday

President Barack Obama will appear at an interfaith vigil Sunday at 7 p.m. in Newtown, the White House announced Saturday evening.

The event is closed to the public and open only to victims' families. Obama will not make any public appearances in Newtown, the White House said..

From Jay Carney, the White House press secretary, released this statement: "Tomorrow evening the president will travel to Newtown, CT to meet with the families of those who were lost and thank first responders. The president will also speak at an interfaith vigil for families of the victims as well as families from Sandy Hook Elementary scheduled for 7PM EST. More details will be released as they are available."

It really isn't. It's actually a very normal and healthy physiological reaction to overwhelming grief.

Edited to add that I'm not picking a fight or trying to be critical.

President Obama will deliver remarks at 7 p.m. Sunday night at Newtown High School.

From the White House press office:

On Sunday, the President will travel to Newtown, CT. The departure from the South Lawn and the arrival at Bradley International Airport will be open press. While in Newtown, the President will meet with the families of those who were lost and thank first responders. The President will also speak at an interfaith vigil for families of the victims as well as families from Sandy Hook Elementary School. There will be pooled coverage of the President’s remarks. In the evening, the President will depart Newtown en route Washington, DC. The departure from Bradley International Airport and the arrival on the South Lawn will be open press.
