When Debbie Bosanek got an invitation to attend President Barack Obama's State of the Union address, she called Southwest Airlines and booked the cheapest flight she could find from Omaha, arriving Monday to be sure she wouldn't run into any weather delays.

Tuesday night, thanks to a national tax controversy, she was a guest of first lady Michelle Obama and had a box seat at the Capitol for the president's address to the nation.

"I feel like Cinderella today," she said Tuesday morning.

But Wednesday, she planned to catch a dawn flight out of Washington, D.C., so she could get back to work at Berkshire Hathaway Inc.'s headquarters in Omaha.

Debbie Bosanek, upper left, Warren Buffett's longtime secretary, is greeted by Michelle Obama before the State of the Union address. Bosanek and Laurene Powell Jobs, upper right, widow of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, sat in the first lady's box. Bosanek was seen twice on national TV as the president noted that she pays taxes at a higher rate than her boss does.

Buffett doesn't seem to be one to live the "CEO life of excesses," living reasonably simply compared to all the others. So, I guess I'm not surprised that he has such a seemingly "down- to- earth" loyal long-term secretary. Good for her on her momentary fame.
