Joe Biden: Allen West Rival Patrick Murphy 'Did The Country A Favor'

Source: The Huffington Post

Vice President Joe Biden reportedly took a hit at former Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) Thursday during a rooftop party for Rep. Patrick Murphy, who defeated West in the 2012 election.

"I'd like to say to all of you, you did the country a favor," Biden told the crowd at Murphy's party, according to TCPalm.

Despite results showing West trailing Murphy by 1,900 votes, West refused to concede the election, suggesting "disturbing irregularities reported at polls" affected the outcome. It wasn't until two weeks after the election that he finally conceded while still insisting on "inaccuracies in the results."

"While a contest of the election results might have changed the vote totals, we do not have evidence that the outcome would change," West said.

While not Perfect.. he is light years better than West.

Murphy has claimed he was so taken aback by some of the things Republican incumbent Representative Allen West was saying in Congress and on television that he felt compelled to run against him.[7] Murphy was supported by Florida's former Republican Governor Charlie Crist and former Democratic President Bill Clinton.[8] The race was one of the most expensive congressional races, and called one of the ugliest, in the 2012 campaign.[9]

After a close vote, the state of Florida certified a Murphy victory over West, days after the election.[10] The West campaign contested that there were errors in the vote counting process and took legal action to request a recount of disputed votes.[11] On November 20, 2012, the West campaign conceded the election to Murphy.[12]

[edit] Political positions Murphy became a Democrat in 2011. He says he switched from being a Republican and a Mitt Romney supporter because of his disgust with the Tea Party movement. He has been described as a "pro-choice, pro-LGBT rights but 'not ultra-liberal' Democrat who values fiscal responsibility."[7] He supports the Affordable Care Act and Medicare. He favors income tax increases for the wealthy, but implemented on those earning over $1 million annually instead of $250,000, as advocated by President Barack Obama.[13]

I did not know this.. Patrick Murphy Sounds like one of those republicons who were actually paying attention to what the teabaggers were doing to their party and decided to do something about it.

should be quiet forever. He left the military under the cloud of war crimes that could have gotten him a dishonorable discharge that would have nullified his military pension.
For my money he belongs in Leavenworth Military Prison for crimes against humanity and corrupting the reputation of the United States Armed Forces. Torture has always been illegal, no matter what the Bush cartel propounded.
In a just world Allen West would not be collecting two generous pensions that we the people pay.

I truly admire Joe Biden for having the courage to say what everyone knows to be true!

I'm glad the war criminal, West, is no longer obscenely polluting our nation's politics.
