Newt Gingrich: 'I will go all the way to the convention'

Newt Gingrich: 'I will go all the way to the convention'

Reporting from Port St. Lucie, Fla.— Newt Gingrich, shaking off signs that his campaign is stalling in Florida, pledged to fight for the GOP nomination through the summer.

“I will go all the way to the convention. I expect to win the nomination,” he told reporters after holding a small rally outside the PGA golf museum here. “You just had two national polls that show me ahead. Why don’t you ask Gov. Romney what he will do if he loses since he is behind in both national polls.”

Gingrich had a busy day Saturday, with six events across the state. This comes after a week with two debates, formats that have largely been shining moments for the former House speaker during the campaign – strong performances helped revive his candidacy and drove his win in South Carolina. But he failed to have breakthrough moments in the Florida debates. Gingrich said he was dissatisfied with the face-offs against Mitt Romney.

“You cannot debate somebody who is dishonest. You just can’t. The people say I’m a good debater. I can’t debate somebody who won’t tell the truth,” Gingrich said of Romney, repeating the theme of an advertisement he released Friday.

It's supposed to be some kind of primal wisdom, I suppose.... like the platitudes one gets from religion. Everyone's supposed to nod seriously in agreement even though it's nonsense.

In reality, of course you can debate all kinds of dishonest somebodies.

....I believe what he meant to say was, 'I will go all the way WITH the convention'....for there's plenty of Newt to go around for everyone....

....the Republican food-fight has just begun; the fat fascist wouldn't want to bail-out now....god-pukes love him, baggers love him, anti-crony-capitalists love him, the only pukes that don't like the fat fascist are the Party establishment and the rich wall-street Mormon types....

.....but who likes them?

5. It's a misquote - he said he'd "Go all the way AT the convention"

He'll be willing to hop in bed and give it up to any special interest that might help him beat Willard.

He is probably going to win Florida simply because the teabaggers don't believe a Mormon is a Christian and they can't accept anyone but a Christian as their president. This will cause enough money to be dumped into his campaign purse to get him through Super Tuesday. After Super Tuesday, Santorum will be out of the race (if he doesn't drop out right after Florida) and Paul...well, who cares, no one is voting for Paul except for his groupies and there aren't many of them.

Of course, all the negativity during the Republican primaries can only help Obama. There is a reason Reagan forbade his followers to speak ill of other Republicans.
