An Arizona businessman tied to a dark money group that tangled with California's campaign finance watchdog last year has been picked to be the next chairman of the Arizona Republican Party, according to the Associated Press.
Graham had picked up a number of key endorsements from state Republicans, and received 1,000 votes to beat out Doug Little, who received 430.
Graham also serves as a director of Americans for Responsible Leadership, the Arizona dark money group that late last year was accused of "campaign money laundering" by California's campaign finance watchdog agency, the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC).
Among those extending congratulations to Graham was Sean Noble, a former congressional aide who has been tied to the movement of millions of dollars between political non-profits. Noble's group The Center to Protect Patient Rights was also involved in the big donation that sparked the FPPC's interest.
