Authorities announce $1 million reward for Dorner

Source: AP-Excite

By TAMI ABDOLLAH

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Seeking leads in a massive manhunt, Los Angeles authorities on Sunday offered a $1 million reward for information leading to the arrest of Christopher Dorner, the former police officer suspected in three killings.

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa announced the reward, raised through several private and public donors, at a news conference at LAPD headquarters.

"Our dedication to catch this killer remains steadfast," Villaraigosa said. "We will not tolerate this reign of terror."

Meanwhile, authorities said camping gear was found along with weapons inside Dorner's burned-out pickup truck. The vehicle found Thursday in the ski resort town of Big Bear Lake was so charred that investigators couldn't be more specific about the nature of its contents, Sgt. Rudy Lopez said.

cursory at best. The initial SSBI is the most comprehensive, and once that is granted, it would take a lot to lose it. If he raised no other flags, no one would be looking at him at all for a background check. There simply isn't the manpower.

Now we are not only going to have trigger happy cops gunning for him, they're going to have itchy trigger finger citizens out there mucking up the works.

Am I the only one who sees this whole situation as one which could go horribly wrong very quickly? I would bet that Dorner is looking at all this -- female Latino paper deliverers and a white surfer, both with obviously wrong vehicles, getting gunned by trigger-happy cops -- and laughing his ass off.

This has already descended into chaos. So, I've got a great idea!!!! Let's offer a million dollar award!!

What could go wrong with that? Eh?

And where's Dawg, the bounty hunter, when we need him. Maybe he can pray at Dorner and bring him in.
