Bipartisan deal close on expanded background checks

"The bipartisan group of four Senators who are negotiating over a proposal to expand the gun background check system privately met this week to discuss where things stand, according to sources familiar with ongoing talks. One source tells me the four Senators are 95 percent of the way there.

I think we will get this passed despite the far right nutjobs... I think this will be one of the more effective gun control type legislation as the AWB may or may not work very well and is unlikely to get passed since 2014 is coming on so fast (election year)... this will be a significant piece of legislation IMHO since we have been waiting a long time for something like this!! Newtown had to have had some effect on these GOP Senator's that are supporting it....

P.S. Yes I know it has to pass the House too. . hopefully we can pull some northeastern GOP house members and a few wayward west coasters to support the bill.. I believe one of the GOP housemember's from Georgia has said he would support such a bill.. can't remember his name but that is significant!!!
