(155 posts)lot of sad strategic planners at the State Department right now. How are we ever supposed to turn Latin America into our permanent colony if this damned socialism stuff keeps breaking out? More to the point if it continues to improve the lives of the people there then how can we keep claiming that they need more corporate capitalism to have freedom and democracy? Since some of our diplomats act as fronts for American corporations this will just make everything harder. Ahhh.

This from his victory speech.
"A few months ago I said a few words, not very appropriate, that offended LGBT groups, and so I expressed my apologies on Saturday and in writing. And I told them that after the victory to again excuse me, that they may not believe that I did it out of electoral interest. I do it. One was born and grew up with stereotypes, stigmas, we have to fight against that strain, perhaps because we received it socially but our commitment is to defend the dignity and equality of all, different but never ragged. A couple of days ago a leader of LGBT groups reminded me, you need courage to lead this kind of movement. They have all our support, personally all my respect and the fight and commitment so there is no more discrimination of any kind in this country."
