N. Korea's Kim, Rodman watch basketball game: Xinhua

Source: AFP

BEIJING — North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un watched a basketball game with former Chicago Bulls' star Dennis Rodman on Thursday, Chinese state media reported.

In a dispatch from Pyongyang, China's official Xinhua news agency said that Kim and Rodman watched a game consisting of players from North Korea and the Harlem Globetrotters, a famed goodwill team from the United States.

Xinhua, which has a bureau in the North Korean capital, cited unidentified witnesses for its account.

Rodman, a 51-year-old Hall of Famer, was quoted as calling relations between the United States and North Korea "regrettable", though added "personally I am a friend of Marshal Kim Jong-Un and the DPRK people".

Lots of possibilities there to help out the young guy who dresses and acts like his Father and Grandfather. I am actually a little encouraged, Dennis Rodman is the last person I can think of who bows to authority and convention.

THIS GUY can get out of North Korea when He wants to. It was reported a year or so ago he attended a Madonna Concert some where in Asia. There were photos of him just like this.

IF he got out more..and went to see some great entertainment, like say maybe a KPOP concert with Kara or SNSD or 2NE1, he JUST MIGHT mellow out, and not think the world was that bad. IF he brought this kind of entertainment to North Korea, it be even better. All he needs to do is chill, kick back and check out some tunes. He needs an Ipod!

Wouldn't it be great if this lead to a more Peaceful and open North Korea?

Kim Jong-il was an NBA fan, loved Elizabeth Taylor and Elvis, and was a huge "film buff" (I think one of his favorite movies was Friday the 13th). Didn't really change him; he got even more eccentric.

He has spent time outside of North Korea. Maybe he needs to spend more time. Maybe someone should take him to Disneyland! Anything to get him to see, the world really isn't that bad of a place.
