Reporter forced to leave Nevada caucus site

The Associated Press

Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 | 1:45 p.m.

A Los Angeles Times reporter was forced to leave a southern Nevada caucus location Saturday after some Republican voters accused her of being a spy.

Reporter Ashley Powers said she was thrown out of a community center in suburban Sun City Anthem outside Las Vegas after a Republican volunteer mistakenly told the crowd of voters that members of the media didn't have permission to observe balloting.

Powers said the crowd of elderly voters then booed her. She said she was told security would be called if she didn't leave, so she left the room. When she later tried to re-enter, an elderly man grabbed her arm and pushed her.

Powers said Clark County GOP spokeswoman Bobbie Haseley called her to apologize for the misunderstanding.

Look at how often they do things that demonstrate that they thinks its easier to say they are sorry than to get permission, e.g. the lies upon which the war on Iraq was sold to the U.S. public.

What, she didn't? Then why did they boo her, grab her arm and push her. What else could cause them to behave in this manner.

I forgot, this is Sharron Angle country.

11. Funny how they do this stuff then later say "sorry". This is how they operate.

They are bullying and then just by a simple half apology, they cover their butts.

Sounds like she was trying to crash the early bird all-you-can-eat at the local Greasy Spoon.

what with the film crew for "Gas***" something or other... can't recall name of documentary.

but the GOP house pigs threw him out of a relevant hearing, had him fucking arrested.

This is not a very healthy trend IMO.

and it doesn't matter how old and in the way one is: they have no authority or right to put their hands on anyone else for any reason. They aren't too old to learn the consequences of doing so. It just means that for years, they've gotten away with doing this to others. I hope the reporter files charges against him.
