Questioning of bombing suspect reportedly begins

Source: Politico NBC News

Federal investigators have begun questioning hospitalized Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and he is responding, according to reports on Sunday night.

NBC News’ Pete Williams reported that Tsarnaev, 19, is beginning to respond to a team of federal investigators mainly through writing. Williams reported that he is being questioned for brief periods and that he has difficulty communicating because of his throat injuries.

It's good to hear that he's coherent enough to understand the questions and write his answers.

My personal suspicion is that he was coerced into assisting on this bombing mission by his Big Bro. After listening to the several former classmates of his, that it weould be unlikely that he changed so much from a happy go lucky and likable kid into a cold blooded killer. It seems that his older bro had been indoctrinated with hate during his trip to Russia, and when he planned his deed, he realized he needed help. I think he conned his kid bro to help him out.

Remember the Manson family? Do you really think those girls would have committed those grisly murders if they hadn't been manipulated by Charlie?

Maybe even damaged by the flashbangs? I don't know what those things do but it looked like they tossed him around with each bang.

He'd gone outside and looked at his boat and saw blood on it. Then he lifted the cover and saw a man lying with blood on him. He didn't know if he was alive or dead and went into his house to call the police.

It was reported the homeowner was very frightened. The police came and used thermal imaging from a helicopter and saw a body, then movement inside the boat. They brought the federal negotiation team to talk to him and had a spotlight to see it all. I don't know whether he spoke to the negotiation team or not.

When he was getting out of the boat, or before that, they used the flash bang to disorient him and make him less likely to do anything. They were afraid he had explosives under his clothes and were hiding behind trees, and sent in robots or dogs, or so live television coverage I was listening to said. Or I may be mixing it up, I listened all night and the next morning.

Now we've seen pictures of him climbing out of the boat, also him on the ground with the police looking for explosives taped on him and medics, and then him on the gurney in the ambulance.

The only blood I saw was on his face, so that may have been the major wound, but there was plenty of blood on the boat before they got there. So much so that both the homeowner and police thought he might be dead, but he kept moving in the boat. They announced before they got him that they were told to bring in alive and he was not only alive but conscious when they got him.

So we will hear his story. I think he was influenced by his older brother, but now there are all the photos and the eyewitness accounts, including that of Jeff Bauman, I think the police have got their man.

It will go through court and I'm speculating his public defenders will go for some kind of insanity or some other problem. Their job is to get him off, provide the best defense they can. This is going to be what is called a high profile case and they will cross their T's and dot the I's.

At least no one else got killed and the teenager is alive. Not that his future is looking very bright now. His uncle said that he will stand by him and try to get him to understand what he did was wrong and to come to terms with his future will be.

Was surprised they didn't have a decent tracking dog follow that easy path right to the boat. I've trained several tracking dogs and they can track a person through a crowded park.

It wasn't clear with the news stories I read if the police fired live rounds at the boat or not. The boat had a lot of holes in it and there was the sound of guns? that may be how the flashbangs are sent.

Scott Olsen, an Iraq veteran, suffered a fractured skull last night after he was allegedly hit in the head with a police projectile at the Occupy Oakland protests. Olsen is currently in critical condition.

After Olsen’s injury, videos and pictures began to circulate around the internet which reportedly show a police officer throwing a “flash bang” explosive. The Guardian notes that another explosive was thrown in Olsen’s direction as his fellow protesters rushed to his aid.

He nearly died. I kept a candle burning (although not religious) for him until it was said he was going to be okay. When he was at the NATO action in Chicago, he explained to DN's Amy Goodman why he has to wear a helmet in any demonstration. He has a steel plate in his head and was told by doctors another concussion would kill him.

So these flash bangs can be dangerous things, although not always, like other devices that are considered non-lethal. The blanks on movie sets caused a fatality years ago when an actor was playing around with a prop gun and died of a concussion.

It's all dangerous, but so were the two brothers, unfortunately. I am glad the uncle presented a human face to the public for to this tragedy to get the haters and warmongers to shut up. Although they really want to get another full-fledged war. Obama won't do it, but if we get another GOP in, it's all but certain we'll be at war.

WW3 is what they want, to finish amassing their wealth and getting more people into their mindset. This event didn't play out how they wanted it to. Good for humanity.

Perhaps this event will get the focus of the 'Homeland security' off the good citizens backs. Kind of doubt it though, conservatives seem to use the Feds and the laws to further their own personal agendas.
