Friend of Cleveland kidnapping and rape suspect Ariel Castro recalls noises, multiple locks on door

CLEVELAND - A longtime friend and fellow musician of suspect Ariel Castro described odd noises inside the house just last week.
..
It was somebody banging, trying to hit the walls, that's what I hear, said Ricky Sanchez, a Brunswick resident. It was kind of like a deep noise boom, boom.
Sanchez said he's visited Castro's home more than 15 times in the 12 years that he's known him.
...
The front door on Castro's house also seemed odd to Sanchez. He said at least five locks secured the entrance. The contraption was so complex that Sanchez recalled having to ask his friend for help in opening the door so he could leave.

Investigator: Ariel Castro tells police he's "cold blooded"
Castro believed he would eventually be caught because he did not have "an exit plan" on how to deal with the three women and the girl he held captive in his Seymour Avenue home, the sources said.
...
In fact, Castro told police they had a chance to arrest him at one point but they missed him, the sources said. It is unclear when that was.
Cleveland Police knocked on Castro's door in 2004 to investigate a case in which Castro, a Cleveland school bus driver, left a child in his bus.
A year later, in 2005, a Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Deputy went to the home three times in an attempt to deliver a court summons.

(2,983 posts)Eventually, I suspect they will have dug up every person in the Country who might have ever stood in the same building as Ariel Castro, so we can get their side of the story too...
The man was a monster. The rescuing of these girls is a great story, a heroic one... but the media, being what it is in this culture, will kick this story around until we're all so damn sick of hearing about Ariel Castro, we'll pray for someone to set off a nuke.
I don't give a shit what his friends think, or say. I do not care, not one bit, about a cop that may have pulled him over once. I really don't give a damn what neighbors have to say about it. What I care about is the lives that he ruined, what I hope is that in time they might heal and finally be left in peace... sadly, they probably never will be. The media will follow this like vultures on coyote until dooms day - or until someone does something even more despicable.....
Welcome to America.
