Bomb squad sent to US Embassy after car crashes into gates
Source: Sydney Morning Herald
A 30-year-old man is assisting police and the bomb squad is inspecting a car that has crashed to the main gates at the US Embassy in Yarralumla.
A robot is being used by the bomb squad to inspect the car, which is still wedged in the gate after the crash at 6pm.
Police say the bomb teams involvement is just a precaution because the incident is at a diplomatic residence.
Emergency services vehicles and personnel have been gathered outside the building on the corner of Perth Avenue and Moonah Place and surrounding roads have been closed.
