North Carolina GOP Attaches Abortion Restrictions To Motorcycle Safety Bill With No Public Notice

Source: Huffington Post

WASHINGTON -- North Carolina House Republicans are pushing legislation that would restrict abortion access, attaching the measure to an unrelated motorcycle safety bill on Wednesday and giving neither the public nor Democratic legislators any advance notice.

On Wednesday morning, state Rep. Joe Sam Queen (D) wrote on Twitter, "New abortion bill being heard in the committee I am on. The public didn't know. I didn't even know."

"I wish I had more time to look at this new bill before I had to ask questions about it or debate it," he added.

The bill then passed the state House Judiciary Committee in a 10-5 party-line vote.

Ours here in Ohio was attached to the state budget. Also no debate, no discussions.

These people go against the very principles our country was founded on and I'm damn tired of it.

Seems unsafe for all involved. Weird that it is actually a problem, though.

As long as the doctor is in a sidecar during the procedure and is wearing a helmet, they should be safe.
Two, as long as the doctor has admitting privileges, they should be able to get to the nearest hospital quickly in the event of an emergency.
I don't see a problem here.

Except for one school board runoff (where I wished they could BOTH lose...), I haven't missed an election since 1976. The only way to keep my vote healthy is to exercise it.

I will not only vote, I will be working my a-- off to do anything I can to keep these fascist troglodytes as far from power as possible.

But also remember all the great things about NC-- The Outer Banks, for starters, the Blue Ridge (Smokies), Ashville, Bat Cave, hammered dulcimers, b-b-q.. Durham Bulls, the list could go on and on....

... to solidify their base and now with their anti voting rights laws now
being passed "they" hope to get their base out and shave off enough D
votes and w/ gerrymandered districts they see this as a way to keep
power.

In Ohio Kasich and company slipped in anti abortion laws into a budget
a signed it in the PM on a Sunday night and took no questions. These
mother fuckers think they are the hand of God on earth and they really
don't give a shit about majority rule and or the rights of women or any
other group they see as the other side. We need to push them into the
dustbin of history. The party of Lincoln and Ike they are not.

Texas and NC and probably a whole bunch of other rotten state legislatures, all trying to take away our rights by any means necessary. Scum, all of them. It's as if they all watched Prop 8 fail and then decided that they'd just have to get desperate.
