Dennis Farina, star of 'Law & Order,' dead at 69
Source: AP
Dennis Farina, a onetime Chicago cop who as a popular actor played a cop on "Law & Order," has died.
Farina died Monday morning in a Scottsdale, Ariz., hospital after suffering a blood clot in his lung, according to his publicist, Lori De Waal. He was 69.
For three decades, Farina was a character actor who displayed remarkable dexterity, charm and, when called for, toughness, making effective use of his craggy face, steel-gray hair, ivory smile and ample mustache.
Farina appeared in films including "Get Shorty," ''Saving Private Ryan," ''Midnight Run" and "Out Of Sight."

On Mr.Farina, just saw "Get Shorty" and he was hilarious in it. I got a huge kick out of that film, watched it twice!

Witty quip (paraphrased - can't find the clip):
Witness: I noticed it was a giant SUV because I hate those things. I'm very ecology minded. Drives my wife nuts.
Joe: My condolences
Witness: thanks
Joe: To your wife

(21,056 posts)who is the bad guy possibly, and Farina and his wife in the film (Another Stakeout) try desperately to find an excuse to get away from these oddballs (Rosie & Richard), so when Rosie brings in her lil Penguin themed dessert sandwiches, Farina wolfs down his and induces a headache to escape them because he overhears a discussion that makes him think they're psychopaths. I went to youtube to try and find it and all I found was the Siskel & Ebert review where Ebert tells Siskel it was better than he said, and his favorite parts where the couple got together for dinner and that he (Ebert) hadn't laughed so hard in the past year as he did at that scene! I was like EXACTLY! LOL
