Source: CBS News
The House Ethics Committee is launching a full-tilt investigation of Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota.
The committee announced on Friday it had received a referral from the Office of Congressional Ethics, an independent investigative body, and said in a brief statement that it would formally investigate the one-time Republican presidential candidate.
A lawyer for Bachmann had previously acknowledged the investigation by the OCE and said that Bachmann was cooperating. That probe is focused in part on her short-lived presidential bid.
As Bachmann deals with the Congressional ethics inquiry, shes also facing an FBI probe and a Federal Elections Commission investigation into her failed campaign

(3,888 posts)but I suppose there will be no real consequences for the representative from Minnesota.
Congress-people, especially republican ones, are never held accountable. They write the laws but don't have to follow them.
I guess, from their perspective, we truly are and exceptional land.

She has plans to retire to K Street, and probably
doesn't even give a a shit about investigations.
Exile from Washington D.C. and politics would be
the only punishment that would cause her any grief.
She's just another turd in the pasture of life .....
