Termination hearing for Gilberton police chief postponed after gun falls from supporter's holster.

Gilberton has continued its hearing over the termination of police Chief Mark Kessler, who has garnered media attention worldwide for his curse-riddle YouTube videos about gun rights, after a loaded handgun fell out of the holster of one of his supporters during the hearing.

The gun did not go off, but Kessler's attorney, Joseph Nahas, immediately ordered that person to leave the room packed with 30 people including reporters and photographers. After a short executive session, officials announced that hearing would be continue at the Schuylkill County Court

"We're in a very small room. It's made of concrete, if a gun were to be chambered and land on concrete like it just did, someone can be injured," Nahas said.

I inferred that it was not being held at the courthouse originally. Presumably, the courthouse will have rules about guns.

It was a town council hearing at the municipal building in Gilberton. It has been continued and will now take place at the county courthouse in Pottsville PA where there are metal detectors.

Kessler is part of a militia group. His supporters are just as looney as he is.

GILBERTON, Pa. — A hearing for a Pennsylvania police chief who made profanity-laced Internet videos about liberals and the Second Amendment was halted suddenly Thursday night after a handgun belonging to one of his supporters slid out of its holster and crashed onto the concrete floor.

The loaded semi-automatic handgun landed inches away from Gilberton Chief Mark Kessler and his attorney. It did not go off, but attorney Joseph Nahas said that he and other officials were concerned about the safety of everyone in the tiny, crowded meeting room at borough hall.

Nahas said the hearing will be continued at a nearby courthouse, where weapons are prohibited.

"To have what happened in this particular room made of concrete and steel, I think, could be fatal for many, many people," he told the audience.

Three Percent Pennsylvania will be what Kessler calls a constitutional militia for people who love the United States and want the country to be what its founders envisioned. There could be chapters founded in other states as well, Kessler said.
