The Grand Canyon, Statue of Liberty and Mount Rushmore are all open for business again at least for about a week.
The three iconic national symbols will be at least temporarily reopened after the states of Arizona, New York and South Dakota each agreed to pay the National Park Service six figures to manage them after they were shuttered to visitors because of the government shutdown.
New York is donating $369,300 to have park service employees reopen the statue to visitors and manage it starting Saturday through Oct. 17, the Interior Department announced.
Arizona is ponying up $651,000 to have the Grand Canyon National Park open for tourism for a week starting Saturday.
