OMAHA (AP) Billionaire Warren Buffett says he hopes his son's new book about his efforts to fight hunger will inspire other people to get involved and make smart choices with philanthropy.
Buffett appeared alongside his son Howard G. Buffett and grandson Howard W. Buffett on Bloomberg television Tuesday. The men gave several interviews promoting the younger Buffetts' new book "40 Chances: Finding Hope in a Hungry World."
The elder Buffett also snuck in a quick ukulele performance.
Warren Buffett said one of the challenges of philanthropy is there really isn't a competitive market to test what ideas are working, so donors have to be smart.

Warren Buffett buys oil sands producer Suncor - Aug. 15, 2013
Warren Buffett just injected himself into one of the hottest environmental debates in the country.
On Thursday Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway (BRKA, Fortune 500) announced through a regulatory filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it bought $524 million worth of Suncor stock last quarter.
Suncor (SU) is a Canadian oil company that derives most of its current oil production -- and future expansion plans -- from Alberta's oil sands.
Preventing oil sands expansion is the main reason why environmentalists are urging President Obama to reject the Keystone XL pipeline, the controversial $5.3 billion project slated to carry oil from Alberta to the Gulf Coast.
