WILMINGTON, Del. A Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to nearly five years in prison for plotting to bring heroin and cocaine into Delaware from Panama and Afghanistan.
Twenty-four-year-old Kevin Morris of Franklin Township was also ordered to forfeit more than $22,000 in drug proceeds at sentencing Tuesday in federal court in Wilmington.
Morris pleaded guilty to conspiracy to smuggle five kilograms of cocaine and one kilogram of heroin from Panama into the United States. Prosecutors say Morris acted as a recruiter, facilitator, and financier for an organization that imported the drugs. Authorities also say Morris was involved in smuggling cocaine into the U.S. through a military contractor based in Afghanistan.
