LONDON (AP) - British police say they have seized components of a gun made from plastic on a 3-D printer.

The parts are being tested to see whether the gun would have worked.

In the article it says that the worlds first viable printed gun was made in May of this year, and naturally it was in the US (Texas).
The group that created the firearm, Defense Distributed, said it planned to make the blueprints available online.
Defense Distributed is headed by Cody Wilson, a 25-year-old law student at the University of Texas, who defended making the design available by saying: "I'm seeing a world where technology says you can pretty much be able to have whatever you want.
I'm sure the world with thank us for that.
edit to add: I wonder of those geniuses ever considered the fact that getting plans for printing a plastic gun was a criminals wet-dream.
