Bush Chief Of Staff Wishes Obama Wouldn't 'Mislead The American People

Source: TPM

TOM KLUDT – NOVEMBER 5, 2013, 9:23 AM EST

The man who served as chief of staff under former President George W. Bush and helped sell the Iraq War to the American people said Tuesday that President Barack Obama's entire team is guilty of misleading the public.

Andy Card said that the current administration allowed Obama "to mislead the American people for so long" when he promoted the Affordable Care Act. Obama has come under fire recently for his previous claim that those who like their insurance plans can keep them under the health care law, a promise that hasn't quite panned out as he said it would.

"Well, first of all, I fault not only the President but I fault the people around the President for allowing him to mislead the American people for so long," Card told the panel on MSNBC's "Morning Joe." "His categorical statements were made not as a candidate but as a President of the United States and words do matter at the White House. And it's usually somebody in the White House that goes to the President and says, 'Mr. President, you said that but it's not entirely true. You've got to put a caveat around it.'"

"So I think there were a lot of people that knew what the President was saying, they knew it wasn't accurate but nobody was correcting it," he continued. "So I think there should be a little mea culpa at the White House, not just from the President but from all the people around the President because he has real problems."

....that Gore and the Democrats didn't support the military because they were trying to "block" some absentee ballots, even though they knew the Democrats' reservations about validity of absentee ballots would affect more DEMOCRATIC voters overseas (primarily those living in Israel, who were solid Democratic voters) than military ballots, and in fact no one at all singled out "military" absentee ballots other than the republicans.

There was a thread here yesterday that explained WHY insurance companies were sending out cancellation letters to customers - it was because, in a few words, they were screwing their customers for years and they could no longer get away with it because of the Affordable Care Act!

There should NOT be a "mea culpa" at the White House, what the White House should do is expose these quasi-fraudulent insurance companies for what they are and what they've been doing for years.

...we aren't going to listen to anything this lying son of a bitch has to say. No one in the Bush administration has any right to say anyone else is lying after they saw to it that tens of thousands of people died because of their fucking lies. So, Andy Card can shove his opinion up his ass and pull it out and chew on it next time he has the urge to criticize anybody!

Just the media playing games right now. zzzzz

Insurers are not exactly nice people. Although never thought them as suicidal to get people off their plans. Might work too well but we'll see. Alot of hey ACA has failed is going to the Govt run website. not state run not the phone line etc. So ACA has failed total bullshit on it's face and anyone with a brain is rolling their eyes. I hear my dad (tea party) got into a heated exchanged over a group of young people lover ACA. Because my dad is a my way or the highway type. he might have gotten off looking good. ie someone paid for his meal. smh and I'm related to him

Accounts beginning 1/1/2104. No where is information about pricing through the government ACA Plans. ObamaCare is a brainwashing technique formulated by the GOP to control the Right Wing and low information blamers just for the purpose of fascism.

http://txinsurance.com/

Here is an example of private competition, which means to me that the ACA Plans can come down in price. Letting the price come down is what Obama is allowing by putting off the purchase and, for now, allowing registration October through late November. Many people can not see through the bait and switch lying deceiving tactics of the GOP.

Let's all get registered while the Corporatist try to stall and shift insurance coverage control back to themselves. Capitalism is competition. Corporate monopolism is fascism by leading people astray to one way of thinking instead of We the People, thinking. Some might call it wrong thinking versus right thinking (in our best interest).

after all the damage done by Bush? These stories aren't news anymore. Like Ann Coulter they are just "shock" attempts for quick bucks. They are turds that stink up relevant news. Personally I think they shouldn't make it into latest breaking news. I also think we as DU'ers need to quit supplying "news" from Fox, Newsmax and other right wing sites. We are literally feeding the beast that we are trying to defeat. It's counterproductive and there should be a DU policy against it. Why lend credibility to Rupert Murdochs crap outfits?

The lying whackjobs that caused hundreds of thousands of people to die so Cheney could become a millionaire and shrub could be the "war president" actually has the audacity to complain about someone stretching an economic argument? How special. Sorry, killing folks is always worse than hitting their pocketbook, and even that argument from them is rather specious since Obama said the non-plans would go away.

Karma is a word that admin. should totally fear.

you can keep your present policy if it complies with the new law. If not you will be happy to find out there are much better policies available and if your present insurance company won't help you call this number or visit this web site, we can help.
He needs to get out in front of this, the media sure ain't going to explain it to the people.
At least he didn't lie us into war and let people drop three buildings and kill thousands of people.
