General Motors recalls 1.5m cars in China

General Motors (GM) and its partner firm in China are recalling about 1.46 million cars amid concerns about their potential safety.
In one of the biggest operations of its kind to date in China, GM and Shanghai General Motors will recall their Buick and Chevrolet models.
The cars could have issues with a bracket securing the fuel oil pump, said China's quality watchdog.

Diesels use injector pumps - I've worked on them for over 40 years.
No one EVER called them a fuel oil pump.
I checked a dozen other sites with the same news - they all simply called it a fuel pump. Period.
Thats my 2 cents worth.

(2,397 posts)Rode bus by this plant several times when I was teaching there--unless there's a plant in another province I didn't know about. Shenyang is an incredibly uneducated, bassackwards city and part of the country--in comparrison to Shanghai or Beijing. But I'm just guessing Shanghai is a more educated city.
