Christie makes no mention of GWB scandal in Florida speech to Republican donors

Source: Bergen Record

ORLANDO -- Governor Christie gave a 23-minute speech to wealthy Republican donors in Orlando today and made no mention of the bridge scandal enveloping his administration in New Jersey.

Christie, the chairman of the Republican Governors Association, is touring Florida this weekend to campaign for Rick Scott, the governor here who is fighting a tough reelection campaign. Christie spoke to a few hundred people at the Country Club of Orlando, where he was greeted with polite but unenthusiastic applause.

The governor spoke hours after the mayor of Hoboken went on a cable news network and said the lieutenant governor tied the city’s application for superstorm Sandy aid to a development project.

Christie did not mention the George Washington Bridge lane closures or the new accusations. Christie praised Scott and presented a $2.5 million check from the RGA to Scott’s re-election committee, Let’s Get to Work. He said it was the association’s “first commitment” and “initial foray” into the Florida race, which is expected to set spending records in the state.

step down)... The Mayor/ Sandy money is yet another corruption issue popping up. I would think more will be speaking out about his bully ways into the future.

I might be wrong but I think Christie is done for and very shortly the republicans
will be trying to distance themselves from his stank. Not only tying up the GWB
but now it looks like Christie and company were using federal relief $s for political
purposes and to reward his rich friends.

Christie Reassures G.O.P Donors He is Bully

PALM BEACH – During a fundraising swing through Florida today, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie attempted to reassure Republican donors who were badly shaken by his recent denial of being a bully. “Let me assure you: I am definitely a bully,” the Governor told his audience at a black-tie event in Palm Beach. “And if I am fortunate enough to be your President, I will continue to be the vindictive bastard you have known and loved.” Governor Christie’s words seem to relieve the $10,000-a-plate contributors, who gave him a standing ovation.
