Joe Manchin backs Clinton 2016

Source: Politico

By LUCY MCCALMONT | 1/29/14 9:49 AM EST

Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin says he wants Hillary Clinton to run in 2016.

"I don’t know if there’s anyone more qualified. I've seen it all, " Manchin said Wednesday at POLITICO's post State of the Union event at the Capital Hilton Hotel in Washington.

"Experience, basically. It’s hard to replace that," he added.

He cited her experience and said Clinton has "seen it from the front lines" including her time as first lady in both the White House and in Arkansas when Bill Clinton served as governor.

7. I guess you can have a fairly disastrous tenure as SOS and still be qualified for a promotion?

Who knew? Did she keep that reset button? LOL.

10. I don't really blame her for Benghazi, actually. I do think it was shitty for her

to refuse to appear on Sunday shows (and let Susan Rice, who had nothing to do with anything, take the heat)-after all, it was Clinton's employees that died. But as for the security situation itself, I don't think she could have had a handle on that. In broader terms, she accomplished little and gave a lot of bad advice to the President.

12. For your information, she didn't send Susan Rice.

The WH decided to send her, not State. It's the WH who always decide which person to send on the Sunday talk shows. Although, it is true that Hillary almost never did those shows. She simply doesn't like appearing on them.

13. State Dept. should answer for a State Dept. tragedy. Not UN ambassador.

But someone high up smelled future political damage for Hillary (endless video clips delivering CIA-written lines that didn't hold up over time) and the protective shield went up. Who decided that? Pretty hinky shit.

I don't think that the WH would have deliberately thrown Susan Rice to the wolves. She is a close ally of the president.

Or is it Sean?

Come to think of it, this deserves a fuller rebuttal. Do you think that she personally translated that button? It was the translator who screwed up.

As for disastrous, a SOS enacts a president's foreign policy. If you have some issue as to how our foreign policy is conducted, take it up with the president.

This is a Democratic site, your comment could have been lifted verbatim from any RW site.

Hillary served as the foreign commerce commissioner, and under her tenure and signature spied on diplomats.

16. Do you know that "she" didn't personally spy on anyone?

It is standard operating procedure to garner information on foreign diplomats. Are you naive enough to think that other countries are not trying to garner information on our diplomats? They have their own dossiers, just as we have ours.

And everything the Senator from India did to promote GE and Westinghouse.

Not surprised. Not impressed.

Its' fine for the party for the short term, she'll probably be elected, but in the long term the party and the nation will suffer due to TPP, KeystoneXL, and the rest of the DINO agenda.
