"The GOP of today is not the party I joined; it's not the party of my parents," Rivas Logan said in a statement. "It's a party that has been radicalized and held hostage by a group of extremists. (444 posts)Everytime one of theses unhappy republicans switch, it drags the democratic party further to the right (and down). If they don't like the direction the teabaggers are driving their party let them fix it instead of diluting ours.

(9,462 posts)degree in Computer Science. She was on the school board for several years and her occupation is listed as educator. She's Roman Catholic born in Nicaragua. She has a couple of donations from labor groups, and most of her campaign money has come from within Florida. She may have been a centrist all along. Don't know. I wonder if she's one of the Republicans who, like the Cubans, consider themselves Republican because of anti-communist beliefs and/or parents.
