Higher gasoline prices are on the way

Source: AP-Excite

By JONATHAN FAHEY

NEW YORK (AP) - Drivers, here's the bad news: You'll be paying more for gasoline in the coming weeks.

The good news: You'll likely pay less than last year. Or the year before, or the year before that.

The price of gasoline held steady into early February, but an increase is almost inevitable this time of year. Pump prices have gone up an average 31 cents per gallon in February over the past three years. And although this year's rise might not reach the heights of years past, there are reasons for drivers in some regions - like the Northeast - to worry about a painful spike.

"We're going to get increases and they are going to be noticeable," says Tom Kloza, chief oil analyst at Gasbuddy.com and the Oil Price Information Service. "We're going to get that pop relatively soon."

2. And in earlier news posted just this evening, it is reported North Dakota alone produced

Feb 2014

a record amount of crude oil in 2013 - 313.5 million barrels...about 70 million more than the previous high mark a year earlier.

The tally, up nearly 29 percent from 2012, marks the sixth consecutive record year for oil production in North Dakota, which
is the nation's No.2 oil producer behind Texas.

Now don't get me wrong here, but between these two news reports, I do believe they are reminding us all our balls are in their hands.

The tar sands oil will go to export, like the rest of it. Prices will remain where the cartel wants them to go.

If the main export of the US is gasoline, why are they gouging us?
The US exports more gasoline than any other country in the world, yet it goes towards export.

I only have to fill up my Prius every two weeks, and if I spend $40 or more I get angry. I wonder what those people in their big trucks, and SUVs are going to think.

I sure hope it puts a stop to folks who leave the car running when they go into the "Quickie Mart," and such.

Big multi-national corporations do. Hell, we subsidize the fuck out of them to do so.

And they don't give a rat's ass about national loyalty.

Oil and Gas are global. If people in China are willing to pay more for it, then that is where it will be sold.

A good portion of this country is being used as a waste dumping ground. The map doesn't show the coal/ash related spills.

The powerful don't care about we, the people. We are invisable to them.

They don't drink the same water we do. They have water treatment systems in their homes and corp headquarters. They don't care about the general managers or employee's in their facilities either. Their allegiance is to their score card, in the big poker tournament they play among the other elites.

It occurred to me that oil spills and the like are a cost of production that the end user ends up paying for.you'd reckon that with enough spills the oil companies would improve their game but it looks like they can do what they like and still make exorbitant profits...government agencies don't seem to be able to get any changes in their operations...especially when they're exempted from a lot of EPA rules...a true free market with proper regulation would help to reduce a lot of spills because there would be a big stick to ensure proper operations but it looks like the game is fixed with the world being bent over an oil barrel....by the way in oz the price of fuel is about $1.50A a litre and the oil companies are closing refineries...must be doing it tough the arseholes.. and now the IMF says there are subsidies of $500 billion going to these people in the USA .

They don't need a sign at the gate, they need an eraserboard.

Nonetheless, we're still among the highest in the nation for "urban" gasoline prices; what goes up a dime a gallon in Indianapolis lifts our prices by 20 cents! Come spring/summer and "tourist season", I've seen it jump $.50/gallon.

Lovely. Right now, $3.53 to $3.63 per gallon.

we'll have much more disposable income now that we're not paying huge heating bills. So we will now have the money to dispose at gas pumps.

Doncha love capitalism?
