"For any doctor to make patient records public and then use the records for public discussion and entertainment is just unthinkable," (Pat Roberts') spokesman Leroy Towns said. "Allegations of such lack of judgment demand extensive scrutiny and investigation."

I work at a CRO, and we have very stringent guidelines in order to be HIPAA compliant. Granted, I don't work on the medical side (I work as an analyst), but if the patient can be identified via date and type of injury, I'm sure that's a violation.

There is no god, because, Gabby Giffords and not this slime.

There are options for issuing complaints. I don't know how effective it is, but at least show there are consequences.
