Best Buy laying off about 2,000 managers across the country

Source: St. Paul Pioneer Press

Best Buy plans to lay off roughly 2,000 managers as the electronics retailer continues to cut costs, according to sources at the company's Richfield headquarters.

Although no store closings are planned, the electronics retailer "has begun laying off thousands of midlevel managers nationwide as it girds for more competition," the New York Post reported Wednesday.

An official for Best Buy declined comment. The company is scheduled to report earnings on Thursday.

Still, sources say the cuts appear to be aimed at field managers, rather than managers at any of Best Buy's roughly 1,000 U.S. big-box stores.

The site is only focused on job cuts, while hugely important news without dispute, it is only on one side of the issue. As the poster points out there are job gains, they may not be in the same communities, equal the lost jobs, but there are indeed gains in some areas.

I am in hopes that all those affected by any of the cuts can find work that will equal what they lost or improve their lot.

http://www.dailyjobcuts.com Right, good info.

Yes its one side of the story, but no different than any major hiring site. Only one sided.
That is why you have many different resources you view.

So I can make an informed decision. That's the basis of deductive reasoning, seeing all the information available.

Looks like job numbers are going to be up again this month. Woohoo!
