LINCOLN A majority of Nebraska lawmakers signed a letter this week supporting the Keystone XL pipeline.
The letter to U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry urged approval of the proposed pipeline, which would carry 830,000 barrels of mostly oil sands crude from Canada to Gulf Coast refineries. The letter was signed by 29 of the 49 senators who serve in the Nebraska Legislature.
Friday marks the deadline for public comments on the pipeline. Supporters and opponents of the controversial project have been working to get letters and emails sent to the State Department ahead of the deadline.
Federal agencies will now have 60 days to submit comments before the department decides whether the project meets the national interest. President Barack Obama recently said he will make a decision within a couple of months whether to grant the pipeline a permit to cross the U.S. border.

I just lost some respect for a couple (D) State Senators. They are in favor in support of the union jobs this will bring. This is one of the few times I don't support a labor cause.

The jobs thing is a complete ploy, maKes me sick how they won't support real jobs growth, but ballyhoo fake jobs all the time if it increases the profits of the 1%.
