Mexico finds 370 abandoned immigrant children

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - In one week, 370 immigrant children, most of them from Central America, were found abandoned in Mexico, after traffickers promised to take them to the United States but left them to their own devices after being paid thousands of dollars, authorities said.

Almost half of them, 163 children under the age of 18, were found traveling alone, Mexico's National Migration Institute (INM) said in a statement.

Each month, thousands of immigrants, mostly from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador, attempt to emigrate to the United States, crossing several borders in the process, despite the threat from drug gangs that kidnap, murder and rape women.

The children told federal migration agents that their 'guides' abandoned them after accepting $3,000 to $5,000 in payments, INM said.
The children and young people, who came from three of the poorest countries in Central America, were found between March 17 and 24, in 14 different states in Mexico.

the US cared about the people they would close off the border to illegal crossing and allow workers to go in legally. Neither party in the US actually cares about the people, they just care about cheap toilet cleaners and lawn care. Period.

for a day or two at all the border cross points. About 10 years ago the borders changed where mexicans could no longer cross over easy for shopping or whatever. All those border businesses died.

Then the illegal routes ramped up, lot of those routes are more dangerous or deadly. Lot of those more dangerous routes are blocked by our 60 billion dollar a year 'border wall'. or our border patrol lets them get into the deserts and die. Drown in the Az. slick walled, fast moving,(no escape) water canal.

Coyotes, Mexican/south American exploiters are for the walking poor. Even though they charge about $3,000. Their industry of rip-offs has grown due to our 'border policies'.

Also a growing industry to cross our borders through Canada, all the close islands, south America and even russias close coast.

It would cost trillions to ring the entire of USA with border guards. Even then one corrupt guard is all it takes.

of possible amnesty. People are dying, raped, robbed, etc. to get there. The US could do more to close off the border but they really want the cheap labor.

We spent 2 years in the US a few years ago (not illegal). The first thing that happened was the illegals telling the wife to have kids for benefits. We were shocked at the amount of children they have there, in mexico women average less than 2.5 children each. They all ganged up around her telling her how to get benefits. You give away stuff like this and do not try to keep out people of course poor are going to die trying to get there.

They were ALL working with stolen ssn's. Different names at home than work. The ONLY way to fight that would be to have a thumbprint attached to the ssn's. There is NO system in place in the US to catch people working with someone else's SSN. Many were working with stolen children's ssn's from puerto rico. I know of one guy that was killed in a car accident and they were going to send his body to puerto rico, he was from mexico. I forget the name of the system they have there but it catches fake ssn's only, not what almost all use which is legitimate ssn's belonging to someone else.

The right want cheap labor and the left want perceived votes. Period. I think there may be a shock though as the vast majority of people going there, that normally do not vote, are VERY conservative. Anti choice and anti gay. The very poor very religious. Later generations are more liberal.

I know all about the illegal immigration to the US, ypou don't have to try and tell me, most mexican's do. Far more than most in the US think they know. The coyote's (narco's now for some time) have female recruiters that tell women to take birth control as there is a good chance they will be raped. Young girls even more so, they have a good chance of being abducted until they get pregnant then set loose. Why do they chance it? 48% of the people here make less than 200.00 a month for 10-12 hours a day 6 days a week, the US pays well for having just one child.

Many of these children found are of people that are already in the US and sending for their children. It was 5000. for people from el salvador (lots where we were, 2nd to mexican's) to get each child brought illegally to the US and it was a gamble. They said "3 veces mojado" as they have to cross 3 borders and they will flat out tell you here in Mexico's is the hardest and they get treated worse.
