Romney appeals to women on campaign trail in Illinois
Source: Wash. Post
Mitt Romney made a fresh appeal Sunday to middle-class moms who are frustrated by rising gas prices, hoping women voters can help speed up his slog to the Republican presidential nomination and rehabilitate his standing with independent voters.
Opening a two-day campaign swing across Illinois heading into Tuesdays critical primary, Romney and his wife, Ann, made a populist play for the support of women, a demographic his strategists see as key to beating rival Rick Santorum in Illinois and in the primaries to come.
Romney increased his lead in the delegate count with a commanding victory in Puerto Rico, which held its primary Sunday. He was poised to claim all 20 delegates in the U.S. territory, where both he and Santorum campaigned hard in recent days.
Santorum spent Sunday in Louisiana, which holds its primary Saturday, casting himself as an underdog and speaking of his candidacy in religious terms.

Oh, interesting how the URL of a story about Illinois has the letters WLS within it. There are two WLS stations in Chicago: WLS-FM = the greatest hits of the '60s and '70s (good!) WLS-AM = hate radio (but at least Richard Roeper co-hosts the drive time show). Mike Malloy used to do his show on WLS-AM about 12 years ago.
Speaking of women though, in the NY Times article "For Romney, a Role of Faith and Authority" from Oct. 2011:
The Times also reported about "Romneys Path to Pro-Life Position on Abortion" (http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/12/us/politics/romneys-path-to-pro-life-position-on-abortion.html?pagewanted=all) in Feb. 2012.
Of course, we all know how Wall Strit Mitt/Mint Raw Money (Norman Goldman's nicknames for Romney) is lying about the gas prices.

The LA Times recently ran a great article on this fact:

(17,505 posts)not to mention the president, whoever he may be, does not set gas prices. He can however step in when speculators overstep the line....

(20,450 posts)He also supported Mississippi's "Personhood" legislation when an overwhelming number of MS voters were against it! How does this lying, arrogant jerk walk back from these positions? He can't!
And if the Democrats/Obama allow this country to forget where this man stood, then we all deserve to lose!
