Al Jazeera has gained access to confidential documents prepared for the Syrian president by his intelligence and security chiefs on the conflict raging across the nation.

(3,093 posts)it has quite blatantly transformed itself into a propaganda arm of the foreign policy of the Qatari dictator, and should be taken with a grain of salt when reporting on matters related to Saudi and Qatari interests. The editorial line dictated and enforced by the royal family has severely alienated many of its long-time employees, particularly from the Beirut office who have been vocal about the recent changes. Quite a shame, it used to be a great resource and a beacon of dissent at a time when most other major Arab media outlets were either owned by Saudi princes or Baathist bureaucrats.
