Election poll: 'Cavernous' gender gap gives boost to Obama

Source: The Christian Science Monitor

Andrew Kohut leads the nonpartisan Pew Research Center and the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press. He appeared at the March 14 Monitor breakfast in Washington, D.C., to discuss a new Pew national poll.

The gender gap between President Obama and Republican candidates:

"There is a cavernous gender gap in the horse-race poll…. Obama leads [GOP front-runner Mitt] Romney by 20 points among female voters. And [Obama] leads [candidate Rick] Santorum by 26 points among female voters."

I believe that this the report on the survey to which Kohut refers:

After all the great work being done by the GOP to win over women over the last while you'd think the gap would be even bigger than this?

'Course it's also astonishing that any person of color or any gay person would vote for those scumbags, and yet...

My youngest righteous religious sister had 4 abortions in her younger wild days. She is the ONLY woman I know who has used abortion as birth control. Bet she has never discussed that w/her fundie daughter. My other sister votes rethug because all her friends do. She has had a career working for non-profits, most recently Make a Wish Foundation. Guess none of it rubbed off.

Strike all the female names. I could imagine another Katherine Harris doing just that. Some women hate women too.

it has been determined that "women" are emotionally unqualified to take care of their own destinies and therefore could not be allowed to vote pursuant to the 5 justices of the US Supreme court!

Also in said determination and put thereforth, "Women" as described, serve for the purposes of:

1. Bear children
2. Please her husband when ever he desires it
3. Pleases her sugar daddy when ever he wants it
4. Raise the children with no questions asked

etc.

Evangelicals don't have sugar daddies, they are sworn to reserve it for husbands only. However, delete #3 and add

Wife must agree with husband, no matter what the topic
Wife must vote the same as husband
Wife has no wishes of her own, only wish is to do as husband desires

How many of you have had sex? Including masturbation? Please tell me about
all of your sexual experiences and do you have any little fetishes?
How many of you are having regular heterosexual sex?
How many of you have had gay sex?
Who the fuck are you to tell women what they can do w/
their bodies?
Why do you think it is called a "private life?"
How do you think it looks when you don't even have any skin in the
game for you be telling women how you think they should act?

But the one democratic man on the panel walked out w/ the women too because
Issa refused to allow Ms. Fluke a chance to speak. And that backfired big time on
the repugs.

sorry to babble

Simply being post child bearing shouldn't matter, I would think? Are older women jealous of younger women? I just don't have a clue here.

From 2008:

Barack Obama beat John McCain by 13 points with women.
Obama won over men by 1 point.

These were national results.

20 points (over Mitt Romney) for Obama with women. 26 points (over Rick Santorum) for Obama with women.

Result would be a clear landslide. (Men, by the way, would shift even further to Obama.)
