Scott Walker campaign asks Supreme Court to intervene in 'John Doe' investigation (WI)

Source: The Journal Times

Another legal challenge has been filed in the ongoing investigation into possible illegal campaign activity during Wisconsin's spate of recalls, this time by the attorney for Gov. Scott Walker's campaign.

On Thursday, Walker campaign attorney Steven Biskupic filed a petition with the Wisconsin Supreme Court to bypass the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, where attorneys for unnamed petitioners have been seeking court intervention in the sweeping five-county investigation. Two other unnamed movants also are asking the high court to intervene.

The filings are sealed; it's unclear why the John Doe targets are seeking the bypass.

The probe focuses on suspected illegal coordination between campaigns and outside groups, according to previously released court documents. The Wall Street Journal, citing leaked documents, said the investigation targets more than two dozen conservative and Republican political groups and campaigns during the 2011 and 2012 recalls, including Walker's campaign.

Although Thursday's filing was sealed, previously released court documents indicate the targets of the investigation have been trying to quash subpoenas already issued in the John Doe investigation.

Their long-term goal is to have the Supreme Court 5 step up to the plate, take some obscure Pony-Express type law, spin it in a way that defines both logic and precedent, and end once and for all the discomfort for Walker, et al., who after all is just doing the will of the people who truly matter in this Country, the top one percent.

But the US Supreme Court will be their backup plan. It's is the Republicans' backup plan for everything.

The WSS court will give Walker the cover up he needs, no matter who they have to strangle next. Never forget this is a court where physical assault on left leaning justices is an accepted tactic in settling legal disputes. Why Walker should get this special consideration is found in the reality that he has much to hide, including behavior that even the right wing dumbass dynasty may find objectionable. If there ever was a governor that seemed sociopathic, he is it. The republican governors who declined expanded Medicare for their states may be responsible for up to 17,000 Americans in their respective states dying from lack of insurance...this is the true death panel. How these governors can sleep at night is beyond me. How Walker can look his family in the eye without shame is equally beyond me.

from a belief system that delegates half of the population (women) to be incompetent, and find many others to be undeserving of anything - which includes the right to live with dignity or live, period, why would they be upset?

We don't get upset or feel guilty about swatting a mosquito. That's their view of a lot of humanity, just look at Paul Ryan who is calling for the death of millions by taking away their life support, and the Koch brothers who are directly involved with Ryan and Walker.

They are simply working on their agenda for a better world for the people they regard as human beings and destroying the government which stood in their way of enslaving and or eliminating others. Their goals are listed:

As far as assaulting other people goes, see my words about mosquitoes above. In every case, fascists really do believe they are working for a better world. For some. For themselves and their families. However, if you aren't one of them, FOAD.

Oh, believe me, they sleep great every night. They come from a long tradition that's believed this kind of stuff for thousands of years.

Indeed they have no conscience, empathy, morals (tho they speak as if they are the only ones with morals), use religion to support their lies, distort/twist history & facts, have NO respect or consideration for women and the disabled, and on & on ad infinitum...

They are predators. That's how the Kochs & their ilk got to where they are.

pretty much uninspired in her campaign. Her history suggests that she is something of a DINO. She's a millionaire (several mil, I believe), and the Party Professionals saw $$$ and ended up pretty much declaring her The Candidate (never mind the Primaries). The grassroots were not particularly behind her, but have come along in tow because the only other candidate, Kathleen Vinehout (a good Progressive), withdrew from the race after taking some rather nasty injuries in a car accident while on the campaign trail.
