Colo. GOP chair labels Jared Polis 'terrorist' over Boulder Democrat's fracking stance

Source: Boulder Daily Camera

After Colorado GOP chairman Ryan Call likened U.S. Rep. Jared Polis to a "terrorist" Friday for his efforts to increase local control over oil and gas drilling, the Boulder Democrat dismissed the remark as "ridiculous" and counter-productive.

About 2 p.m. Friday, Call tweeted, "We shouldn't negotiate with terrorists," in response to another Twitter user's question about Polis. The tweet has since been deleted, but ColoradoPols.com captured a screenshot.

"Of course it's ridiculous that over differences of opinion on an important issue, people are calling each other names," Polis said. "There's plenty of arguments on all sides. We want to have a strong energy sector in Colorado, but we also want to protect homeowners, and we need to find a balance between the two."

Call, in a statement Friday afternoon, apologized for the tweet.

Reason one the Vulcans will never make first contact here (well, not one) . . . exposure to the hypocrisy of the average right-winger would result in a fatal cascade starting in their logic circuits.

Mind you this 'controversy' is about whether or not towns and cities ought to have the authority to regulate if and/or how fracking is done within their own boundaries.

What this debate exposes is Repuglican hypocrisy once again when it comes to the empowerment of regular people and local control. Despite all their talk and rhetoric, Repuglicans in Colorado are not for 'the people' ... they are for unchecked corporate power at all costs.

So, it is no wonder that individuals like the state GOP chair go off the deep-end when they are shown-up for what they really are -- nothing but hacks and enablers for the one percent.
