Right-Wing Blogger Gets Duped By Bono Impersonator
Source: TPM
DCs bad boy reporter just filed a pretty bad piece of journalism.
Jason Mattera editor of Human Events and known ambush interviewer recently posted what purported to be an interview with U2s Bono. In the clip, Mattera tries to go after Bono, suggesting the singer moved his charitys office to avoid higher taxes. Breitbart.com touted the interview now removed as a tax dodge by Bono.
But, just one small problem. It wasnt Bono. It was an impersonator. A representative for ONE, the real Bonos charity, confirmed to TPM that the legendary Irish singer wasnt even in the U.S. at the time of Matteras interview.
Mattera appeared on Sean Hannitys radio show Tuesday to promote the clip, saying that Bono filibusters forever without any actual explanation. Mattera didnt respond to TPMs request for comment, but he told the Washington Post that he got punked.

LOL! I heard the Sean Hannity interview with this idiot on my way home from work yesterday. They were orgasmic over this Bono interview thinking they got him. What a bunch of morons.

Just like they think Sandra Fluke wants the gubmint to pay for her pills, 'cause that's what they heard.

They will jump on any bandwagon no matter how ludicrous if it justifies their contempt.

(14,093 posts)I heard Sean trying to explain his fuck-up today, by claiming that Bono and other celebrities send out hordes of lookalikes to throw people off their trails.
Wrong in so many ways:
-U2 are one of the most accessible bands of stature. I've seen them on several tours and have easily talked to Bono on a few occasions. If someone wanted to question him on camera, it wouldn't be that hard to arrange.
-The impersonator in question is someone pretty familiar to U2 fans. His name's Pavel and has been trying to trade on his passing resemblance to Bono for years. Most people find him annoying, and nothing more. He's hardly some secret operative of Bono and Edge.
It was especially funny that Breitbart's stooge set this up by claiming he actually a huge fan of the band and that he only did this story because he was so compelled to confront lib'rul hypocrisy. Apparently, he's never watched a single U2 concert, video or interview, as he was fooled by a third rate lookalike whose speaking voice sounds nothing like the real guy.
Anyone who heard Sean yesterday knew immediately this wasn't Bono. I only wish it had made to FOX so their bungling would have been far more embarrassing and fodder for Jon Stewart.
