A gunman has shot dead two men and a woman at the Jewish Museum in the Belgian capital Brussels.

A fourth person was seriously wounded, emergency services said.

The attacker arrived by car, got out, fired on people at the museum entrance, and returned to the vehicle which then sped away, Belgian media report.

One person has been arrested and police are hunting a second, officials say. Security has been tightened at Jewish sites across Belgium.

You're seriously saying that we don't have massive manhunts for active shooters?

Heck, we lock down entire campuses and workplaces at the rumor of a gunman in the area....

According to an update listed below, there was an attack recently in France. Of course, it doesn't draw much interest or it is minimized or mocked. Such is life.

western civilisation's history and culture. I would love if it were removed root and branch, but there are still old leader of old Europe who go a different path than I would go. I am hoping for the newer generation...the old will die out...and we'll get new leaders with more progressive ideas...

food. I trained in and out of it to visit some of the world's greatest art in 2012, the Ghent Altarpiece and the Bruges Madonna, as well as its own Musee des Beaux Arts. It was a memorable trip...art, food and wine...what more can you hope for?

I hope they get that gunman and put him away for a LONG time...

They have released CCTV footage of the suspect walking into the museum, shooting through a door with an automatic rifle, before walking away.

An Israeli couple in their 50s and a French female employee of the museum were killed in the attack on Saturday.

Unconfirmed reports suggest a fourth person has died from his injuries.

13. Carefully planned, anyway

I'd still assume it is anti-semitic, though - I'd think this is not a place you'd be able to target a specific person at a specific time.

It could be a Breivik-style person - he planned carefully (the bombs in Oslo to divert police attention).

Seems they will have many who will not be moved by the deaths of random Jews (or possible Jews), so very familiar. You are right it could be a "Breivik-style" situation, which could indicate something else will happen.

You would think that Europe, of all places, would have had its fill of racism and fascism. Are we doomed to repeat history?
