Fayette District Admits to Promoting Religion in School

Source: KOMU

FAYETTE - The American Humanist Association has reached a settlement in its lawsuit with the Fayette R-III School District on Thursday over promoting religion in the district's public schools.

The American Humanist Association filed suit against the school district in November after a student contacted the group about the district violating the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment.

The American Humanist Association listed several violations in its suit against the Fayette School District. In a statement, the school district admitted to one First Amendment violation. The school district said it had been broadcasting information about weekly prayer meetings over the morning announcements. Superintendent Dr. Tamara Kimball said she agreed to change the district's policy on the matter.

"After months of investigation and interviews, the district determined that virtually every allegation made by the Plaintiffs was false, misleading, or taken out-of-context. As a result, the District agreed that one allegation we did confirm as accurate, the content of the morning annoucement, would be a simple concession to make so that we could put this lawsuit behind us, and continue our mission of educating students," Kimball said.

These local school boards are infested with right wing but jobs.My own daughters school inserted as much stealth christian bullshit into their school as possible. They never rest. They insert this crap into programs, extra curricular activities, into the meetings everywhere they can. They create an atmosphere intolerant of non participation. Children are easily manipulated. Subtle reminders exist everywhere. All because there is always a group of religious assholes willing to do whatever it takes to inject their brand of oppression upon the rest of us.
