Man who threatened to kill President Obama sentenced to year in jail

A Pennsylvania man who threatened to kill President Obama in a post on the White House website was sentenced to a year in federal prison Wednesday.

Nicholas Savino, 42, was indicted by a grand jury last year after he referred to the president as the "Anti-Christ" and threatened his life in a message published in August 2013, according to a statement issued by the U.S. attorney's office in Pennsylvania.

“President Obama the Anti-Christ. As a result of breaking the constitution you will stand down or be shot dead," Savino wrote.

The president was scheduled to make several appearances in Pennsylvania the same month Savino posted the threat. One of the appearances was at Lackawanna College, less than 10 miles from Clarks Summit, where Savino lived.
