Venezuelan man arrested for allegedly terrorizing Newtown residents after Sandy Hook shooting

Cardenas Hoffman's arrest in Miami on Saturday comes a year and a half after the 30-year-old from El Hatillo allegedly phoned dozens of residents on Dec. 16, 2012 while pretending to be mass killer Adam Lanza, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

A Venezuelan man accused of terrorizing Newtown, Conn. residents by pretending to be Sandy Hook mass murderer Adam Lanza has been arrested in Miami.

Cardenas Hoffman, 30, of El Hatillo was arrested Saturday after allegedly phoning dozens of residents just two days after the Dec. 14, 2012 shooting spree and threatening to kill them, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

"This is Adam Lanza. I'm gonna [expletive] kill you. You're dead. You're dead. You hear me? You're dead," Hoffman said in one call, according to federal authorities.

In another message authorities say Hoffman specifically mentioned using his "machine gun" to gun them all down in a sick nod to Lanza's own heavily-armed slaughter that left 20 kids, six staff members and his own mother dead.

4. You know, if the US had a better relationship with VZ, they could have got to him much sooner.

If he did not ever travel to the US, they would not have been able to catch him.

I know you were trying to make some kind of point, but this story is just one example of why good foreign relations can yield benefits.

is there nothing more productive he could have been doing with his life? Or is this all some kind of a funny game to him?

6. Watch the Gun Enthusiasts latch on to the "machine gun" terminology.

Because as far as they're concerned, the most important aspect of this story is the incorrect reference to a semi-automatic firearm.....

Its astounding to me, if you to to YouTube, to see all the gun nut conspiracy theorists that deny this tragedy ever took place.

So what happens when a wingnut, who wants to criminalize all Venezuelans, because they are socialists and their former President called their hero Dubya "the Devil"....who is also a gun nut Sandy Hook denier?

But this just shows that there are sick assholes in every country.
