EXCLUSIVE: Drunken NYPD cop punched Bronx woman 20 to 30 times after breaking into her apartment

Source: New York Daily News

Police Officer Eugene Donnelly is accused of breaking into the apartment while drunk and wearing only his underwear on June 11, attacking the woman while on her bed. A police source said Donnelly, 'beat the hell out of her.' The alleged attack came a day after Donnelly received an award for arresting a gunman.

He could not find his way back into the apartment. On the same floor as Donnelly’s friend’s pad was the apartment of a 30-year-old woman. She was fast asleep.

The woman told investigators she was awakened at 5:30 a.m. by a boom — the sound as Donnelly busted her front door open, according to the source familiar with her account.

When she sat up in bed, Donnelly was there, staring at her, the source said. Before she had a chance to react, he punched her in the face, the source said.

“Then he hit her again,’’ the source said. “She said he punched her twenty or thirty times.”

A police source added that Donnelly “beat the hell out of her.”

I'm assuming that since this happened in Woodlawn, which is mainly comprised of Irish immigrants, he punched a white woman. He'll be fired. They only get to keep their jobs if the person they beat up is brown.

Couldn't be uglier, unless he had mangled her even worse.

From the article:

Stu London, Donnelly’s attorney, called the officer “a professional member of the service.”

“As this investigation unfolds all the decorated officer asks for is that the District Attorney keeps an open mind while investigating,’’ London said.

Good grief.

.... if it were anyone but a cop he would be in a cell naked with a coffee can for a toilet.

If it wasn't for the video surveillance, he'd absolutely walk on this regardless of whether the cops knew he did it or not.

This woman needs to get her a BARRACUDA attorney and if this guy is not charged SUE THEM INTO HELL.

More destruction was created last night by alcohol than all the other drugs combined.

And more destruction by alcohol last night than in the entire history of marijuahna consumption.

But the massive amount of ad money and print money for the media by the alcohol producers and the massive profits for government and private owners will not even let the conversation get started. Who will take up the discussion, the media?

They will not even separate informed argument and ignorant opinion.

I'd certainly like to know how badly she was hurt, if she's in the hospital, needs reconstructive surgery, etc.

Last week, the Miami Herald

http://www.miamiherald.com/2014/05/17/4123183/behind-bars-a-brutal-and-unexplained.html

reported on the truly shocking story of Darren Rainey—a mentally ill, non-violent drug offender, who was tortured to death by guards. This story is not only tragic, but is also perfectly illustrative of several major problems in the United States prison system.

Rainey was forced by guards into a prison shower stall with the water turned on to the highest temperature. These guards kept him in this cell for over an hour—with him begging and screaming for them to let him out—until his skin started to peel off and he died.

If he took a drug he's still responsible for his actions whether prescribed or not.

I tend to agree that is probably how it happened, he woke up, tried to go "home", too fucked up to find his own apt, went in hers, thought she was an intruder.

All that said, the man deserves jail time, that's what anyone pulling this would get.

I remember a cop getting off for shooting a black 15-year-old in the head -- turns out he had a "rare form of epilepsy."

And about that "friend" he crashed with -- male or female, I wonder? And how long were they friends? Did he pick up a lady friend and get thrown out so abruptly he had no time to dress? That happens...
