Eric Schertzing wins 8th Congressional Democratic primary (in Michigan)

LANSING, MI Ingham County Treasurer Eric Schertzing has won the Democraitc primary in Michigans 8th Congressional District, rising above a crowded field of candidates.
With 93 percent of the vote in, Schertzing has 42 percent of the vote. He will go on to face Mike Bishop in the general election. Nov. 5.
Trailing is Susan Grettenberger with 38 percent of the vote, Ken Darga and Jeff Hank both have 10 percent.
"We carried ourselves in the campaign with a commitment to civility," Schertzing said. "I look forward to have conversation across mid Michigan."

The current member of Congress from MI-8 is Mike Rogers, who is retiring to become a talk radio host. Rogers, as chair of the House Intelligence Cmte,
is a frequent critic of the Obama administration regarding Benghazi...but his own committee
found little evidence of one of the biggest right wing myths, a "stand down" order.
On the Republican side, former State Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop
won the MI-8 Republican primary.
