White House rejects Netanyahu's criticism with withering response

Source: Reuters

The White House rejected criticism from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with a withering response on Monday, accusing him of refusing to acknowledge how much help the United States has been to Israel over the years.

Long-time strained relations between President Barack Obama and Netanyahu appeared to widen further after the Israeli leader's visit to the White House last week.

Netanyahu, on the CBS program "Face the Nation" on Sunday, said U.S. criticism of an Israeli move for a new Jewish neighborhood in East Jerusalem was "against American values."

At his daily briefing, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said: "It did seem odd for him to try to defend the actions of his government by saying our response did not reflect American values.

The warhawks on the right are going to try to spin this, and all it takes to sober up the Republican minions is the tax dollars that we have sent to Israel over the years.

No accident he drops this bomb four weeks before an election. Can you imagine if the prime minister of the UK or the President of France tried to influence an American election this way?

Ambassadors would be called on the carpet in a New York minute.

in the 2012 election. It seems they were buddies in college days. But isn't a bit unseemly (as well as diplomatically foolish) for a foreign leader to inject himself into internal US politics?

Especially when you consider that Israel has little economic power of its own. When was the last time you purchased a product labeled "Made In Israel"? I am no expert, and I welcome anyone who can correct me on this, but it seems Israel's very existence is allowed by US assistance, both militarily and economically. We have paid a high price in both blood and treasure to support Israel in the past, so while they have every right to disagree with our policies, I for one am irritated by their political gamesmanship.

It is my understanding, though, that Irael has something to do with that make your own soda device that was being heavily advertised last year.

The Nutless Yahoo knows Christians need the Jewish state for end times, so he knows he'll have unconditional support until mankind inadvertently ushers in end times.

Of course the ending won't be what the Bible teaches us.
