GOPer Perdue Attacks Dem Nunn For Father's Panama Canal Vote

Georgia Republican Senate candidate David Perdue is taking what might seem an unusual approach in criticizing his opponent, Democrat Michelle Nunn — he's criticizing her for her father's vote in the 1970s to give the Panama Canal back to Panama.

"We're being sold the same bill of goods by my opponent," Perdue said at a stump speech in Blue Ridge, Ga., according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "She's trying to say 'Oh no, I'm going to go to Washington and work together with the other side like my daddy did'

"I want the Panama Canal back, y'all. You know, I remember. I remember in 2008 when (then-former Sen.) Sam Nunn stood up and gave on TV —and it's on YouTube right now, you can see it. Go look at what Sam Nunn said about our commander in chief. He said Barack Obama will open up a new day for America. He'll protect our military. He'll be good for our veterans."

As the Georgia newspaper noted, Nunn backed then-President Jimmy Carter in 1978 when he asked Congress to vote to return the canal to Panama.

David Perdue is a wealthy 'businessman' in the likeness of Mitt Romney who made tons of money closing down businesses and shipping jobs overseas.

Perdue, since you only know how to outsource jobs here is a little history concerning the "PANAMA CANAL"
Teddy Roosevelt went to the country along with Taft to work out a deal to create this canal at our expense, and then we would get to use and then we would give it back to them and they would let us and the entire world use it.
But sense you are like your other republican hypocrite George W who wanted to occupy IRAQ, just goes to show you and everyone else how you and your gang of hypocrites want a new world order

press, and they were not so freaking lazy, as in criminally lazy, the GOP would be history themselves by now, it will take a few more years.

The GOP is calling all crazies to get out and vote for them.

Should be seeing more of the same from other Repukes and probably far worse accusations by the weekend.

"I want the Panama Canal back, y'all"

Umm why? We spent hundreds of millions keeping it open and then we gave it back to Panama so they could pay to keep it open. Funny how that worked out well for us huh.

If that's the best shot this low brow has, he's screwed.

15. We were SUPPOSED to give it back!

That was the original agreement. Unfortunately, neither he nor the people who will vote for him have obviously never cracked open a history book so they wouldn't know that. I remember when all that was being negotiated and the idiot Republicans back then were saying, "Carter gave away 'our' canal!" How the HELL is it OUR canal when it's in another country? It was bad enough that we overthrew the government at the time in order to get the canal built, I'd say the least we could do was honor that part of the agreement and give it back.

17. Perdue for TENANT'S RIGHT!!! How Progressive of a GOP Candidate.

Anyone who says a lease is good not only for the duration of the lease period, but till the TENANT no longer wants the place, has my vote. This must be Perdue Latest Slogan:

PERDUE FOR TENANT RIGHTS.
LANDLORDS HAVE NO RIGHT TO END A LEASE EVEN AT THE END OF THE LEASE PERIOD.

Yes, Given his example the the Canal, it is clear Perdue stands for landlords have NO right to rent a leasehold to someone other then the current tenant, increase the rent or remove the tenant unless the Tenant agrees. What a progressive position for a Republican to take!!!

Are you now saying I am wrong about Perdue??? You say Perdue is NOT for Tenant's Rights????? Perdue supports the rights of the LANDLORD to end a lease at the end of the lease period????? If that is true Perdue has to support giving the Canal back to Panama at the end of the lease period. something he said HE OPPOSED. Thus Perdue MUST be for Tenant's Right NOT to be evicted....

I am being sarcastic but maybe someone should post a sign pointing out what Perdue's position actually MEANS, i.e. he opposes landlords evicting tenants.
