Cutler to make announcement Wednesday morning

Independent candidate for governor Eliot Cutler will hold a press conference Wednesday morning at his Portland campaign office.
Although the details of the event were not released, it is highly likely that Cutler will address his chances in the race.
The independent, who narrowly lost to Gov. Paul LePage four years ago, has been unable to make any gains in public polls to date and also has scaled back on advertising in recent weeks.

In May, Cutler told Portland Press Herald columnist Bill Nemitz that he was prepared to tell supporters, “If on the day before the election, or the morning you have to go vote, if you don’t think I can win, vote for someone else.”
