Republican concedes San Diego congressional race to incumbent Democrat
Source: LA Times
Republican challenger Carl DeMaio has conceded defeat in the tough, expensive race against incumbent Rep. Scott Peters (D-San Diego).
DeMaio made his concession in an interview Sunday with the Associated Press, which on Friday had declared Peters the winner in the 52nd Congressional District.
DeMaio trails Peters by 4,771 votes with an estimated 6,000 to 8,000 votes to be counted, according to the county elections department. The count has Peters at 51%, DeMaio 49%.
Peters, 56, an environmental lawyer and former San Diego City Council member, was seeking a second term representing a district that includes Coronado, Poway and a northern stretch of San Diego.

And I simply don't have the nerve to ask but...
I think that one of my niece's teenage boys, had been working on the Bagger's campaign.
The father had been absolutely brain washing the sons since day one...it's disgusting.
For some reason, San Diego is red (or that's what the map I saw said). There's probably a lot of rich folk out that way.

What an idiot...they would ship his butt off to a GITMO in a heartbeat, if it suited their purposes.

(1,916 posts)Looked a bit iffy on election night. The Republican was ahead by a very small margin, and strutted around like the winner. He announced he would be going to freshman orientation coming up soon. But there were over tens of thousands more ballots to count; the pendulum swung to our side and held.
