St. Louis County prosecutor says Ferguson grand jury still working, decries 'rank speculation'

CLAYTON • In response to “daily, if not hourly speculation” about when a St. Louis County grand jury will decide the fate of Ferguson police Officer Darren Wilson, Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch said on Monday that nothing had changed.

The grand jury was still working on the case, he said in a press release, and the mid- to late November time frame for completion that he gave Nov. 4 has not changed.

McCulloch said that once a decision had been reached, his office would inform the public and the media and that “rank speculation … should be ignored.”

McCulloch’s statement follows a weekend during which various parties were claiming, via social media, that the decision had been reached and would soon be announced.
